Rochester Fall by Peter Monacelli
For the Summers of '95 and '96, I lived and worked in Rochester, New York.
While the daytime design work at Eastman Kodak exercised everything school
said an engineer should be, the people of Rochester showed me there was
much more to life than integrals and transistors. My neighbors took me
in and adopted me, which is the kind of friendliness I will always think
of when I think of Rochester. Peter Monacelli gave me this painting of
the Rochester sky to remember Roch and my friends with. I'll admit to often
day dreaming about those Summer nights, sitting on the porch flicking beer
bottle caps with our thumbs, complaining about our individual work, and
preparing for another night at Milestone's.
For Peter, Gloria, Donald & Phil, Ian, Kristine, John, Christian,
Charlie, Dan, Jeff, and everyone else, thanks for the memories. While this
is a thousand lines short of what I would call essential Roch, It wouldn't
be complete without a picture of Peter, the porch, and his crazy nose...
